From scratch to sorcery, what’s our secret?
✨ We’re basically ice cream wizards! ✨
Our ice cream is crafted with love, using ingredients sourced from nearby farms - no shortcuts, no base mixes.
What do the numbers 5, 7, 13, and 21 have in common?
That’s how many miles away so many of our local ingredients are from our scoop shop! That means milk, cream, eggs, maple, basil, berries, goat milk, and more - if we can get it locally, we do!
Unlike most ice cream producers we pasteurize every batch in house.
But what does that really mean? It means we “cook the base (milk, cream, eggs, sugar)” at 160 degrees for 35 minutes and then heat it up to a safe temperature to maximize flavor while also naturally preserving the mix!
Next, it’s time to build peak flavor!
Our house-made custard base spends the next 24-48 hours aging in the cooler getting ready to rock your flavor buds’ worlds.
Ready for the sexiest part of the process? It really churns us on!
It’s time to turn the custard base into ice cream! In our batch freezer, we churn the ice cream mix up to 22 degrees to get ready for....
Adding mix-ins!
This is when we get to turn up the creativity and the ice cream flavors take shape. We’re talking house-made baked goods, ripples of caramel and fudge, pieces of chocolate, magically delicious marshmallows, and more!
What does -30 degrees feel like? Ask our ice cream!
Once the churning is finished, your favorite lu•lu ice cream is transferred back to our blast freezer to firm up for at least 24 hours so that it’s ready to....
